Amazon Kindle Review - Totally Flawed Or Amazingly Awesome?

The first feature that many people love on the Kindle is that you can search for books right on your Kindle and download them effortlessly with a few clicks. There is no need to fuss with computer cables or even logging on to your PC at all. In fact, you don't even need to have a PC in order to get this to work for you.

You'll also love the selection Amazon has. You can find everything from the newest releases from the hottest publishing companies, to the oldest classics, to the independently published works that wouldn't get any attention otherwise. Since Amazon has developed their own proprietary ebook format, it's great to know that there won't be a shortage of material available for you to download.

It's not just about books either. While competitive ebook readers only allow ebooks, you can read blogs, newspapers, and magazines on the Kindle. These are updated instantly and sent right to your device when a new edition comes out. This is a great thing when you need to get a news fix and see what is happening in the world.

While most reviews of the Kindle's interface and content are very favorable, there are some people who simply cannot get past the look of the reader. It does have a shape that is reminiscent of devices that might have been created in the early 90's. While Amazon might benefit from an Apple style makeover, the actual design and casing doesn't detract from the use of the Kindle at all. In fact, the design serves the function very well.

There are some people who wish the screen were a bit brighter with more contrast. Amazon appears to have designed the screen this way to reduce eye strain and give the reader a more 'paper-like' look. This does work well, though it might take a little bit of time for you to get used to an electronic device that doesn't glow like your computer monitor.

Another issue some people have is the ease with which the pages turn. It is common to accidentally touch the page turn buttons on the side of the device. This can result in lost pages, which can certainly be frustrating. It takes some getting used to holding the device without making that mistake, but the problem does seem to stop occurring after you've owned the machine for a little while. The flip side to this issue is the ease of page turning can help you get immersed in your book since you don't have to fiddle with buttons!

The Amazon Kindle is certainly an amazing device. People are already salivating at the rumors that there is to be a second Kindle released in the future! Hopefully, they will take the few issues into account, but keep the charm, ease of use, and amazing technology the Kindle currently has in tact! If you're sitting on the fence about the Kindle, it's time to get off because this is one device you don't want to be without.
