How To Include A Cover In Your Kindle EBook

I was recently asked, "Where does the cover go in my Kindle ebook?"

Actually there are two answers to that question. The Cover image can go:

1) In Amazon's Digital Text Platform and,

2) At the front of your ebook.html file.

Since your cover is in two separate places, there is not a conflict because one is used to sell your book in the Kindle ebook store and the other is so the reader can see your cover when they open your book in their Kindle eReader.

Is it absolutely necessary to add a cover image to the front of your ebook?

No, but it does enhance your reader's experience.

A Cover image is just like any other image in your ebook.html file so it uses the same code. For instance, let's say your Kindle ebook's title is "Conspiracy" and the cover image name is ConspiracyCover.jpg. So this is how the html code is written. Please take out the space after the

So let's discuss what this code means.

tells Kindle where your book should open.

If you don't put in this code, your ebook will start at Chapter 1. Which means if you have your cover, copyright information and a prologue before Chapter 1, your readers will never see this information. That's why placing the code before your image and the closing code after your image is so important.

Don't put the start code in and you could get reviews from ticked off readers which will hurt your sales.

; is used in the Kindle even though it's deprecated for websites. The Kindle uses very basic html so it's okay to use the center code. As the name suggests, your image is centered in any eReader that has Amazon's Kindle software on it.

Your cover image should be in the same folder as your ebook.html file along with both table of content files when you build your.PRC file. And yes, Amazon does recommend your ebook be a Palm Resource Code (.prc) file if you want your ebook to look just the way you want.

You should definitely make your cover in Color because the Kindle might show it in grayscale but the other devices (i.e., iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone, Blackberry and Android phones) are all in color.

Besides, you want to use the same cover when you self publish in Amazon's Digital Text Platform.

You're competing with thousands of ebooks in Amazon's ebook store so make sure your cover is great looking (meaning readable) in both the large and thumbnail size.

Amazon Kindle DX Leather Cover Review

The new leather cover for the Amazon Kindle DX is surprisingly very simple, nothing overdone unlike the previous Kindle covers. The leather cover is nothing fancy on the outside, but dependability wise, it's really more than it seems, and it really fulfills its promise of protecting the Amazon Kindle DX.

This is one of the best things invented and I think that with e-books being published on the internet everyday, a gadget that will read e-books is the most helpful thing.  If you love your Kindle and if you love reading e-books then the jacket is one thing that you should be without.

What I love about the new DX leather cover is the simplicity of the clips and edges designed specifically to offer protection to the Amazon Kindle. It only has a few fastening hinges, all of which are enough to keep the Kindle secure and away from scratch or any kind of tampering.

The thickness of the leather cover, I'll say is to be about average. The thickness will obviously change and you can feel it, especially if you're someone who really appreciate the thinness of the kindle. But at the same time, it also protects very good. I've learned how to adjust to the thickness, since I originally wanted something that's both simple yet very effective anyway.

The outside of the Kindle DX leather cover is just a black rough genuine leather, and the edges are like soft felt. I love that it looks classy and it looks very professional. I love how the Amazon Kindle DX looks with its leather cover on, because it makes it look so much better. But what's the best thing about the Kindle cover? It's very affordable.

Kindle Lighted Covers / Cover Your Kindle 3 With Style and Convenience

My Personal Review of Kindle Lighted Covers

The Kindle Lighted Cover, featuring a Kindle powered LED light, and gold plated hinges for securing the Kindle and allowing for maximum electrical conductivity. These covers come in a variety of stylish colors and have a high quality pebble-grain leather exterior, and a charcoal micro fiber interior.

Kindle Lighted Covers can be found on-line and now in many major stores such as Target and Wal Mart.

Pros:

Internal Light - Kindle cover features a built in, retractable LED reading light that lets you read conveniently anytime, anywhere.
Quality - High quality pebble-grain leather exterior.
Ease Of Operation - The reading light is located in the top right-hand corner of the back cover. Simply pull the light out and it automatically illuminates, eliminating the need for a separate on-off switch.
Maintenance - Because the light is powered by the Kindles battery, no batteries are needed.

Cons:

Weight - The weight of the cover feels like it doubles the weight of the Kindle 3 in your hand.
Light Operation - Pulling the LED light out feels awkward. It could have been designed to extend easier.
Pricing - This cover is $60.00, whew. It would be great if this cover was about $45.00

Final Thoughts:

The Kindle Lighted Covers features are among the best in features and quality. The Internal light enables me to read in the dark without fumbling around with an external light. This internal light is powered by the Kindles internal batteries so I don't have to worry about replacing batteries. (Make sure the Wi-Fi is OFF to conserve battery life)

Kindle Lighted Covers are made of high quality pebbled leather and are available in 7 different colors so not only did I get high quality cover, I had some color choices here.

I happen to like the weight of Kindle Lighted Covers as it makes my e-reader feel more like a book.

Overall, despite the cost, I found this to be one of the nicest covers available [http://kindlelightedcovers.com].

Compliment your Kindle 3 with an Innovative cover.

Reasons to Get a Kindle Cover

The Kindle is a truly excellent device. One can store effectively an entire library on the small device, meaning it's fantastic for traveling, or anyone who just doesn't like to carry a huge book around. Of course, the Kindle will never quite be as good as the feeling of an actual book (some would say), but you can remedy this sensation by getting a leather cover for your Kindle.

Not only does a cover protect the device (since it's about as deep as a pencil, it's not something that you would want to drop or damage) but it also provides a nicer feeling to your fingers as you read it. While the Kindle is beautifully light (lighter then many paperbacks) a case will add a little weight to it, and this will influence your case buying decisions. Pick something that you really want your case to focus on. There are probably a lot of reasons why you would like a case, but say the main reason that you want a light which can illuminate your Kindle when reading it in less then great lighting conditions.

There are various different devices over at Amazon that can help with this. There are clip on lights like those little book reading light clips that you can buy for a couple of dollars. However, because they have the name 'Kindle reading light' in the name, they shoot up to around $20.

There are also cases which permit the addition of a light. These cases are fairly cheap to begin with, but once you add that extra light (which is usually sold separately) it can add up. Also, batteries in a light are something that you will also need to deal with, replacing them when they die etc. Most reading lights will probably last around 20 hours of illumination, so depending on how often you read in the dark, this could range from one week, to a couple of months.

Once case that solves this is the official Kindle Lighted cover which includes a light in the case that hooks into the battery. It solves the issue of replacing batteries, as only the Kindle itself needs to be charged.

Regardless of what case you get for your Kindle, make sure that it can at very least protect your Kindle from bumps and scrapes. If lightness of a case is a concern for you, then look around. A lot of light cases out there are tiny little things, and hardly protect the device at all.

Visit my Kindle Cover with Light [http://kindlecoverwithlight.com/] website for more information and comparisons between popular Kindle covers. Or take a look at this blog post for information on how the Kindle's screen works (read: why it's so fragile!).

Kindle Lighted Cover - Protect and Illuminate

Since the launch of the Kindle a many months ago its popularity has soared. It offered a great alternative to buying the book as you simply downloaded each novel when and where you wanted providing you were in signal range or wi-fi depending on which model you chose. Very quickly people started to pick up on its only flaw, which was that it couldn't be read in the dark or in dimly lit rooms, making it impossible to read before you go to bed or in night trains for example. This was a big problem as you can imagine. However, designers and manufacturers quickly provided well-designed sleeves with lights included to supply the demand that was quickly rising.

There are a couple of lighted sleeves of note available, the first is a very slick leather sleeve with retractable light that ticks all the boxes for the suave mobile reader, however is priced rather steeply at £59.99, which is over half as expensive as the Kindle itself. Not proportionately priced I think you will agree. Secondly however was a very similar product which ticked the very same boxes as a sleek and slender kindle sleeve with a detachable light instead of retractable light, but priced much more competitively at £17.95, just over a tenth of the cost of the product itself. Far more reasonable.

To Conclude: Kindle Lighted Cover Good Points

It's Price, very competitive, and if you are feeling the pinch this makes sense.
Great Leather Case looks fantastic.
Light is separate so doesn't use up kindle battery
LED is long lasting
Can move the light around the page so more useable.

Kindle Lighted Cover Bad Points

The reviews suggest the only downfall of this product could be light, which is not quite as excellent as the cover.

The leather cover is high quality and folds shut neatly. My favourite type of cover closure is the zip but haven't found any zip up ones with lights so haven't included in my review. But this one has clever little slip for tickets and receipts. It doesn't weigh too much either, the added weight takes its combined weight to about that of a small hardback book, a comforting weight.

Had a look around and found some good sites, but go into shops or stores and they seem to be lacking on variety, Kindle Lighted Cover has the full range available.

I recently bought a Kindle and was thrilled with it except for one thing, you cant read in the dark! This prompted me to look into kindle lights and see what is available.
Thanks
Jo Pearse

Kindle Lighted Cover - Hands on Experience

Kindle Lighted Cover has an LED bulb that attaches via gold plated hinges to the Kindle for maximum electrical conductivity. These covers come in many different colors and has a high quality leather exterior with a stone grain finish. The interior is micro-fiber and provides a soft and protective enclosure for your Kindle.

Kindle lit covers are available online, and now many department stores such as Best-Buy, Wal-Mart and target

The Good News:

* Quality - High quality stone-grain leather exterior.

* Maintenance - Because light is battery powered by the Kindle, no batteries required.

*Very bright LED light arm that will illuminate the page in complete darkness

* Easy operation - Light Reading is located in the upper right corner of the back. Just pull the light, and it automatically turns on, eliminating the need for a separate power button.

* Cover completely covers case so drops and scratches will not tarnish the Kindle

The Bad News:

*Extending the Light is a little awkward, but is really not noticeable

*With the cover the Kindle is a fair bit heavier, but this does not hinder it's portability

Conclusion:

This is a definite good decision for Kindle owners. The Kindle does not have a backlit LCD screen. This is an advantage in bright light environments or even outside; however it makes the Kindle virtually impossible to read in low light or darkness. The cover allows you to retain the outdoor readability with the option of the bright LED to shine at night

The weight issue is something that initially bothered me when I first got the kindle lighted cover. It did however grow on me over time, as the added bulk did feel more like an actual novel in my hands

The cover itself is manufactured in high quality leather; it definitely feels like a properly fabricated cover.

Most local stores do not have the range of colors that online stores such as Kindle Lighted Cover When I was at Wal Mart Ii could only find black.

Waterproof Kindle Cover - Now Your Kindle Can Go To The Beach For Summer Fun Or The Hot Tub To Relax

A waterproof Kindle cover is the answer you have been looking for so you can enjoy your electronic reader all summer long in all the places you want to be.

Whether at the ballpark or at the beach, there are threats to any nice electronic device. Water, sand, dirt, spills from the concessions you buy or the tropical drinks you sip are all a threat to your nice Kindle reader.

Unfortunately, many of us decide to leave our "nice" gadgets at home rather than risk damage to them from the threats that exist in the summer time places where we want to be. If it is at the park with the kids or on the beach with friends, family or by yourself, having your Kindle loaded up with your favorite reading will help you enjoy it to the fullest.

You know how it goes, though, you set it down to talk for a minute, maybe get a drink or a snack; in just a split second something is spilled or that brief summer rain shower passes through and now your device is damaged.

Why risk it?

How about leave it safely at home instead? No way, that is not why you bought it. The places you want to read are places that have hazards, but that is OK, there are even hazards at home.

Even if you carefully set the device down next to you, a pet might jump on it, which would ordinarily damage it. But with the right protective case for your Kindle, your device survives undamaged and no one even ruffles a feather.

Get more reading enjoyment from your Kindle with a waterproof cover.

One of my friends is big into electronic devices and has lots of material he needs to read to stay on top of his job. Unfortunately, he has stress and bodily aches and pains to go with it.

Recently they bought a hot tub to help relax and cure those aches and pains, and it works great. But he confided in me that for them to spend two to four hours at a time in the hot tub is not uncommon.

How can he make better use of that time?

Easy, buying a waterproof Kindle cover so that he can read while in the hot tub and not risk damage to the device from the humidity, splashes or even an accidental drop of the Kindle into the water.

There is nothing worse than buying a product for a purpose but not being able to use it for fear of damaging it.

Feel secure taking your electronic reader where you are going to be when you want it. Simply choose a waterproof Kindle cover that will protect it from damage and extend the life besides.

The Kindle Touch Lighted Cover Outshines the Competition

Amazon's newest addition to the Kindle family is sure to be a hit with book lovers the world over. Whether reading a classic or browsing for your favorite magazine, the Kindle Touch will not disappoint. With ease of navigation, the beautiful eInk display and a smaller, lighter body, the user experience has only gotten better. But what about keeping your Kindle Touch safe? Not to worry. There is a fine selection of Kindle Touch Lighted Covers to keep it safe and keep you reading late into the night.

It has happened to most of us. While on a road trip you're just getting to that good part of the story when it simply becomes too dark to see the page. Usually we ask to turn on the distracting overhead light. Not anymore! You won't have to bother the driver, or anyone else, because the newest covers for the Kindle Touch have a built-in light. Just flip out the LED on it's rotating arm and keep on going with the latest novel. This cover and integrated light seamlessly protect your Kindle from all sides.

As is the case with so many people, we tend to abuse our things. Looking for a flat place to set your fries on that long trip just put your Kindle in a dangerous situation. But if you have it installed in one of the lighted cases from Amazon, you won't have to worry if some ketchup get's 'misplaced'. Your Kindle is surrounded on all sides by durable leather all nestled into soft microfiber cloth.

There are three common situations we put our books in:

Eating
Lying down
Carrying in a pocket

With the Kindle Touch Lighted Cover you'll never have to worry about these problems. While eating the cover lays flat so you can use an elbow, finger, chin or whatever is handy to turn the page.

The cover flap folds back easily, so holding the Kindle with one hand is a breeze. And the light doesn't stick out on one side or the other. It fits neatly within the 'boundary' of the cover so you can face either direction and use the light, and you won't have to worry about breaking it off.

The cover is versatile and durable. You can simply stuff the Kindle touch into a pocket or purse and never give it another thought. The fine leather, soft microfiber and rigid case will protect it from any bump and scrapes along the way.

Whether on the road, in a plane, eating hot wings or just relaxing on the beach the Kindle Touch Lighted Cover is the best way to keep on reading, letting worry drift away on the breeze.

Is the M Edge Kindle Cover the Best Leather Cover You Can Buy?

Most people who spend $300 on an electronic device want something to protect it and that is exactly what the M Edge Kindle cover offers. For about $45 you get a leather cover with some internal pockets and enough padding to keep your Kindle from being damaged by all the bumps and dings it can get when it travels around with you. But if you have heard horror stories about some leather covers actually being the cause of damage to the Kindle, you might be a little wary. Fortunately, the M Edge Kindle cover poses no such threat.

What it does offer is a much higher quality feel that other similarly priced covers. Sure, you can spend over $100 on a cover that would rival most designer handbags, but not everyone wants to shell out that kind of money for something that is intended to take the damage the Kindle would otherwise sustain. Since the price is low, you won't feel so bad if your cover does get a scratch or two. After all, that's why you bought it. You will get plenty of utility from this cover, but you also get a look and feel that you would expect to pay a lot more for.

What you won't get is the slim attractive look of the Kindle anymore. The cover, although great for protecting the Kindle, does add a great deal of heft. The overall size increases quite a bit and it noticeable when you close the Kindle with the cover on. You also add a bit of weight to the e-reader. If you really love the sleek look of your Kindle, this may not be very appealing to you.

But if you are looking toward buying the Amazon leather cover, you may be swayed back when you find out that the Amazon cover actually poses a threat of damage to the Kindle. While the hinge system on Amazon's cover is very unique, in rare situations it can damage the Kindle. The M Edge Kindle cover does not have the advanced spine of the Amazon cover, but it will protect your favorite ebookk reader just as well.

New Leather Kindle Cover With Built In Light!

Ever tried to read with your Kindle in the dark? Tired of using clip on reading lights? Luckily for you Amazon has developed a new leather lighted Kindle cover for your 3G. Protecting your Kindle is very important because like many electronic devices an e-reader can be damaged during everyday use. You do not want your screen to become scratched or scuffed which could take away from your reading experience. So why not kill two birds with one stone.

This new case is built using premium leather which offers outstanding protection for your Kindle device. With a sleek design and beautiful leather exterior this cover feels good in your hands while looking stylish. With seven different colors to choose from you are sure to find a style the works for you. The interior of this case is lined with a microfiber material which will never scratch or scuff your screen. The added benefit of this soft interior is when the front cover is folded completely back for one handed reading.

The top feature offered by Amazon's new cover is the built in reading light. When not in use the light stores neatly away inside the back of the cover, it is as if the light was never there. When a reading light is needed you simply pull it up from the corner and you are set. The lamp uses LED bulbs to create an efficient light source that does not cause the screen to glare. Though the light itself is not adjustable, it still creates an even and sufficient amount of light across the entire screen. You never need to worry about checking batteries in the reading lamp because the power is drawn directly from your kindle. This means if you Kindle will turn on then so will your light.

The cover attaches to your Kindle 3G using two brass tabs. These tabs are also the source which draws the power for the light. These tabs ensure that your Kindle is securely attached and will not fall out if you drop or bump you e-reader. This case with your kindle installed adds a bit of weight at almost 1lb, but it also gives you the feel of quality unlike flimsy cases that feel like they might fall apart. When it comes to protecting your investment you do not want to go cheap and pay the price in the long run.

As a conclusion to this article I think it is obvious that I am a fan of Amazon's new lighted Kindle cover. I recommend you do some shopping around of course and make sure you get a case that fits all your needs. You can find more coverage on Amazon's new lighted Kindle cover, and other cases available for your e-reader at Lighted Kindle Cover! Remember you do not have to fumble around with a reading lamp that was built for a paper back book, and you don't have to blend in with the crowd. With so many different cases and covers available you can surely find something to set you apart from the rest.

3 Great Reasons Why You Need A Kindle Cover

The Amazon Kindle is a truly excellent e-reader. It makes reading on an electronic device bearable and is a great boon for travelers like me who like to travel light, but are also kind of bookworms. Books are heavy, and one great solution is the Kindle. However, the Kindle is only 0.34 inches deep and since it's prone to getting bumped around, it's little wonder that getting a case is high on many people's priority lists. Here are three great reasons why getting a Kindle cover is important.

1) Protects it

This one is probably the best reason why people get cases for their fragile electronics and it's a good one at that. An effective case will prevent the Kindle from getting scratched or banged about. That screen is especially fragile and it's important that it is protected. Yes, sure, you could get one of those 'screen protectors' but they add glare and an extra thing to look through when you are reading your device. It's far better and simpler to just get a cover that covers the screen when you're not using it.

2) Less of a target for theft

A good cover looks a little like a journal and won't attract much attention. This is of course assuming that you don't get something that is blatantly obvious as a cover, such as a silicon case or other thing which shows off exactly what it is that you have. While a good rectangular case looks a little like a journal, it's not guaranteed it will prevent theft, but it certainly is less noticeable then an unprotected Kindle.

3) Feels better in your hands

Again assuming that you don't get something made of silicon, a case (especially one made from something organic such as leather) will make your Kindle feel less like a gadget and more like you're holding something beautifully organic. Of course, that's one of the main reasons that people don't like e-readers, part of the reading appeal is that books do feel quite nice in the hands. A good leather case will make your Kindle feel better to read, more pleasurable as your hands have something to do, rather then grip a plastic device. Most people won't factor this reason in when buying a cover, which is probably why the leather ones have such good reviews. Not only do they protect your Kindle, but they add so much to the reading experience, it's surprising!

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover Rating Review

The kindle lighted leather cover has a lot of benefits for many people who have been wanting to read their kindle in the dark, but not have to lug around a big light with them all the time. I love to read, and I know just as well as anyone that lighting and reading are inseparable. Many people are curious as to how well the kindle lighted leather cover compares to the other covers and cases out there. Well here is my opinion about this product.

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover - Durability 8/10 - The cover's durability and protection is great. If you have the tendency to drop things a lot, then you would want to get something like this. By no means is it something that you can drop from high places, but it does the job of a normal kindle user. The cover is made up of.... well... leather. It is composed of high quality so you will be getting your money's worth.

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover - Lighting 9/10 - The kindle lighted leather cover has a very intuitive and wonderfully designed built-in light. This is very beneficial to the reader, so they can read wherever they want without the need of a lighted source being near them all the time. It has carefully placed the light on the top corner of the kindle, so it's easily accessible to the reader. The only downfall is that the light slowly gets dimmer on the bottom left hand side, but you'll find that with any small book light. Other than that, it provides a great source of light.

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover - Ease Of Use 10/10 - The way they made the cover is spectacular. I have had my share of cases and covers that were not user-friendly and they were just for looks. Now don't get me wrong, I believe that looks are great, but they are not everything. I prefer to have something that helps me. This Amazon cover does just that. Amazon made this with the reader in mind, which makes me feel better about getting something like that. Of course, you can rely on Amazon to make the best cover for their own product.

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover - Power Supply 10/10 - Again, just amazing the way Amazon made this. They designed it in a way where the light draws power from the kindle battery and not having to bring your own pair. I don't like having to bring an extra pair of batteries or have to charge two things at once. Now I don't have to worry about either of those. It's perfect in my opinion.

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover - Overall 9.5/10 - This is by far the best cover out there. I've never seen something more ergonomically correct than the kindle lighted leather cover. If you're wanting something that protects and lights up your kindle, then this is exactly what you're looking for.

I hope you enjoyed my article and I hope it helps you decide what cover you need for your kindle. Again, I'd say that the kindle lighted leather cover is the best thing that's out there so far, so I highly recommend it.

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover - The Best Way To Cover Your Kindle and Always Carry A Reading Light!

The Kindle Lighted Leather Cover now offers Kindle users a stylish and practical way to keep their device protected when they're on move, whilst ensuring that they are never without a reading light.

The clever design incorporates a reading light which slides away into the cover whilst not in use to become completely invisible. The light is powered directly from the Kindle itself, via the patented gold-plated hinge mechanism.

When you first encase your Kindle in the cover, you'll be impressed at the snug fit. The build quality is immediately evident, and the pebble-grained leather exterior looks very smart. I bought a blue cover, but they are available in seven different colours.

The Kindle is securely fastened inside the case by the hinge mechanism, and whilst shut, an elastic strap ensures the Kindle remains protected. The interior of the casing is made from soft microfibers, to ensure the screen remains scratch-free.

One of my main concerns was whether the light sufficiently illuminated the Kindle display, as some of the promotional pictures suggest that the light only works well for the top-right corner of the screen. A quick test proved this wasn't the case - the promotional pictures in this case are slightly misleading.

The dimensions of the case are as follows:

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover Weight

Weight without Kindle: 8 oz
Weight with Kindle: 15.75 oz

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover Size

Front & Back: 7 3/4" x 5 1/8"
Spine: 7/8 "
Thickness: 3/4 "
Open side (with Kindle inside): 3/4 "

As far as the cover goes, there is very little to fault. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, very well. It is perhaps a little on the heavy side - doubling the weight of the Kindle itself - but even then it just feels sturdy, rather than heavy.

This is the perfect solution to the only real issue with the Kindle - the lack of a backlight. This is great for bright conditions - allowing you to read easily in the sunshine - but not so great when it's pitch black. With the Kindle Lighted Leather Cover you have a light when you need one, and when you don't need it - it slides away invisibly into the cover.

The cover is expensive, coming in at just under $60. Having said that, given you'd pay $35 for a cover without the built-in light, I would say the added convenience is worth the extra money.

Overall, you get exactly what you pay for. Although it may seem slightly on the expensive side, the cover is a smart, stylish, elegant and practical accessory - a perfect and, for me, essential companion for one of the gadgets of the year. What To Buy, Kindle Lighted Leather Cover Or Kindle Leather Cover? A Quick Review

Anybody who has invested in a Kindle 3, 6" display, latest generation, must be wondering, if its sensible to buy Kindle lighted leather cover or the Kindle leather cover online. Personally being a kindle user from the beginning, I find the new lighted one, highly innovative. It is virtually the same, a re-sized version of their popular leather kindle cover. Both types are commonly available in a rainbow of 7 bright colors, draped with genuine pebble-grain leather and a soft grey microsuede interior.

The normal Leather Kindle Cover has a shipping weight of 13.4oz while the Lighted Leather Cover has a shipping weight of 15oz. For price considerations, the Lighted Leather Kindle Cover costs $59.99 whereas the normal one costs $34.99. For a mere $15 difference what you get, is a small reading light attached with the protective gear, which otherwise would cost you much more and would be an additional accessory to carry around. So the light, really is a major value addition to an otherwise great Amazon Kindle leather case.

The unique design of the Lighted cover has an integrated, retractable LED reading light in the top right-hand corner of the back panel. The best part is that, It does not seem to add any extra bulk weight to the device and the cover. Guess what, the light only comes on when you pull it out from the case. That's not all, the power required by this light is drawn from the kindle's internal battery itself. So there is no hassle of an extra power adapter. Trust me; I was happy to have invested my money in the Lighted Leather Kindle Case. By spending an extra $15, I got it its full worth. I thank myself more during my late night readings.

Kindle 3, 6" display is a darling. It's shiny, new and reads to you. It carries the burden of thousands of books in a chip. How can one even think of not protecting the beloved kindle from dust, scratch, god forbid a drop. So you must opt for the hottest Kindle cover and case.

So, if you are a habitual reader like me, you might as well Buy Lighted Leather Kindle Cover.

But if you just want to be assured about protecting it, you can Buy Kindle Leather Cover Online minus the lighting accessory which would just do fine.

The Amazon Kindle Cover - Protect Your Investment

The Amazon Kindle cover that comes with the electronic reading device is rather inadequate with some things that will annoy someone who's just spent a several hundred dollars on a high-quality piece of electronics. The original Kindle cover had even more problems, but the latest incarnation, still leaves some things that the Kindle owner might find annoying.

The most common complaint with the cover that comes with the Kindle, is the way that it keeps the eBook reader in place. While it has two slots, which you can slip your eBook reader into, there is a tendency for it to slip out, and if you're not careful, it could hit the floor. As we know with all electronics, this is not an ideal circumstance. Many workarounds involving Velcro in strategic places have been suggested to keep the Kindle in one place when a person is reading.

There have also been a number of very good aftermarket companies offering stylish, high-quality solutions to the Kindle cover quagmire. Three higher quality brands are Strangedog, Stylzworld and Noreveusa

Amazon also has a new cover coming out at the end of the November called the M-edge cover, which is much anticipated. There are 12 different models that are genuine leather in various colors and compatible with an e-Luminator book light. If you own a Kindle, you'll immediately recognize how a book light that connects and doesn't wobble is a good investment for your Electronic Reading Device. There are also non-leather "Leisure Jackets" that sell for less, but on the whole the M-edge is a luxurious addition to the Kindle cover arena.

Strangedog

Strangedog offers handmade covers that are both beautiful and custom. He only makes a couple in each style and each is very well crafted and durable. He offers the Velcro option to hold the Kindle in place, and will even take fabric from the customer in order to make a cover to spec. There is a waiting period as he only makes a limited number of these per week. Strangedog take pride in his hand made covers, and the level of craftsmanship is excellent. In this plug-n-play world, Strangedog is a one of a kind vendor who prides his work over mass production.

Stylzworld

Stylzworld offers a cover that is made of unique cognac brown leather with a sparkling design on the inside. It is genuine leather, tri-fold cover that has cutouts for credit, business and memory cards as well as other types of documents. It has an innovative holding system as well as a cutout in the back for the on/off buttons. You will have to contact them if you live in the United States as they are currently looking for distributors and are mainly located in Europe.

Noreveusa

A traditional leather case/cover is offered from Noreveusa and comes in 3 colors. It has a clasp that closes and holds the Kindle steady. It has the same problems presented with the original Kindle, although the clasp and leather make it a nice Kindle cover to consider.

Amazon offers a few different cases that will protect your Kindle if a cover isn't what you're looking for. These other options include a Neoprene Sleeve Case with a screen protector, a travel package that includes a leather case and travel book light, and a black neoprene case that's good for travel. However according to the word in the Kindle forum, it appears that most people are waiting on the M-edge genuine leather executive case as the best buy in Kindle covers for Christmas.
