Kindle DX (9.7-inch Reading Device) - The Perfect Digital Reader?

While the original Kindle and the Kindle 2 is designed for reading books, Amazon has released the new Kindle DX that is optimized for reading textbooks, newspapers, magazines and other periodicals. You would think that the new 9.7-inch screen would be perfect for reading those materials but the truth is, the DX does has a lot of room for improvement.

First of all, the Kindle DX costs around $490 each, which is pretty expensive by any standards. A lower price tag will make it much more accessible to the mass market (but then again, it is the first of its kind). There are many people who will be reluctant to fork out close to five hundred bucks for a more stylish way to read their newspapers.

When it comes to PDF files, the Kindle DX is really just able to view it and nothing more. It is unable to increase the size of the fonts, nor magnify the images on them. If you read the PDF file in landscape, the font size may sometimes be more readable. So if you wish to view a lot of PDF files on it, be sure to increase the size of the fonts on your PC before you load them on the reader.

Due to its size, the Kindle DX is heavier than the smaller Kindle 2. Although it is still quite comfortable to hold it, it just doesn't have the portability of the smaller Kindle. You will need an average sized bag to carry it around with you. Then we have the page turn button. The new left-side-only page turn button is an improvement to prevent accidental page turns but when you are reading the material horizontally (landscape), the page turn will be on the top/bottom, making page turns a little awkward.

Despite its flaws, the Kindle DX is still a revolutionary, one-of-a-kind digital reader. Its larger screen makes reading newspapers and magazines so much easier. Although it is still far from perfect, it will provide an enjoyable reading experience for many (if they are willing to fork out the price). I am already looking forward for the launch of the Kindle DX 2 (if any)! Kudos to Amazon!

Amazon Kindle Fire - A Perfect Gift

The Amazon Kindle Fire seven-inch lively color touchscreen display provides the viewing for the different access of more than eighteen million quantities of media that include newspaper, movies, magazines, apps, television shows, and games. Surfing on this device is fast as the web browsing is provided by the latest Amazon Silk. Amazon Silk was built by Amazon to offer a quicker transmit times and page loads when using the Kindle Fire in surfing the Internet. It has superb Wi-Fi connectivity. If the person you have in mind to give Fire as a gift is particular about color, then this is a great choice.

The Amazon Kindle Fire has an internal storage of eight GB. This amount of storage can accommodate about eighty applications and also about 800 songs, ten movies, or six thousand books. It also has a free unlimited Amazon Cloud storage. A bookworm would love this version of Kindle.

Amazon Kindle Fire battery life runs for about seven to eight hours. Even if its battery life is not comparable with that of other Kindle versions, it can still allow you to perform continuous reading for about eight hours. Or, watch a video for about seven hours before the battery is recharged.

Fire is a great tablet and eReader in one that is convenient to transport anywhere. It measures 7.5 inches in length, 4.7 inches in width, and 0.45 inches in thickness, which make it very easy to place in your bag and carry wherever you go. Amazon Kindle Fire is lightweight and comes with a protective case that is available at Amazon.com. It is amazing that even your 4th grader can carry this device.

With the present economy, many consumers are looking for products that are of great quality and function but are reasonably priced. Buying Amazon kindle Fire is considered not an impulse buying since its price very affordable and worth for the functions it provides to the users.

Its capability to store Kindle books, Android applications, television shows and movies are very much visually appealing to customers. Obtaining content with the use of your tablet is somewhat seamless with Fire. In addition, able to see what you can download in the cloud is truly simple. However, this capability will be seen deeper after Fire is out in November.

The reasonable price of Amazon Kindle Fire with its widespread application support makes it very enticing for families who intend to give their kids a tablet without hurting their budget. Fire is making its own target market by focusing on entertainment while supporting the facilities for sharing photos, handling email, and other similar functions.

After looking at the different remarkable features of the Amazon Kindle Fire, it is likely to make good after its initial release in November. Based on the success of the other versions of Kindle that made a wave on the market, it is perceived to be a hit as well. It is indeed a perfect gift for Christmas.

New Kindle 3G Wireless Reading Device Makes The Perfect Christmas Gift For Your Favorite Reader

This amazing new wireless reader is now thinner, lighter, faster and better than ever before. Weighing in at only 8.7 ounces, it's 15% lighter than a paperback book so you can read tirelessly for hours on end, even using just one hand. Its new sleek design has a 21% smaller body while keeping the same 6" diagonal display size.

Just 1/3" thick, thinner than even a magazine, the Kindle can hold up to 3500 books and documents, which is more than double the capacity of the original version, so you don't have to pick and choose which books to squeeze into your purse or carry-on luggage. You can always have your entire Kindle library with you at all times.

With a new longer-lasting battery life, you can read for up to a month on a single charge as opposed to only hours on a tablet or smart phone, and it never gets hot in your hands. The Kindle fully charges in about 4.5 hours using the included U.S. power adapter. You can also recharge the Kindle from your computer with the use of the USB 2.0 cable that is also included. This is the longest battery life on the market, beating out the iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Android, and other devices using back-lit LCD displays.

The new version of Kindle comes with 3G wireless so you can purchase the latest books and magazines over the Internet with no monthly bills or annual contracts. There is no wireless setup, so it's ready to go right out of the box. The built-in 3G connectivity uses the same wireless technology that cell phones use, and Amazon pays for this connectivity for you. This added convenience allows you to download reading materials anytime, anywhere, while on the go, without having to find a Wi-Fi hotspot connection. And with wireless coverage in over 100 countries and territories, the Kindle 3G is a perfect option for travelers.

Kindle's new high-contrast E Ink Pearl technology features a 50% greater contrast than previously available, for the clearest text and sharpest images on the market. The screen looks like actual paper, so it's easy to read even in bright sunlight, with no glare.

The Kindle store at Amazon offers over 750,00 of the world's most popular books and over 610,000 of them are priced at $9.99 or less, including 79 of the newest New York Times bestsellers. You can even download and read the first chapters of a book for free before you decide to buy. You'll also have access to thousands of out-of-copyright classic books for free -- old favorites like Treasure Island, Gulliver's Travels, Pride & Prejudice, and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, to name just a few.

You can read leading magazines like Time, Newsweek and The New Yorker, and newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, USA Today and The New York Times, even before they hit the newsstands. And you can also access more than 9,000 blogs and read PDFs and personal documents on your Kindle.

At a suggested list price of $189, the Kindle comes in either white or graphite.

The new Kindle 3G wireless reader may very well be the most appreciated gift under your Christmas tree this year!

The Kindle wireless reader from Amazon allows you to download hundreds to several thousands of eBooks from the Amazon Kindle shop. These books range on a variety of subjects, and if you want to travel and always have several books to bring with you, this wonderful gadget can produce for you loads of books on the go. However, there are actually many fashions of the Kindle, in fact, there are actually 6 of them. All of which offer great features and extras, but there are still some things that you need to take into account when choosing the perfect Kindle wireless Reader.

Look into the features

When researching about the different kinds of Kindles on the market, you want to see which ones offer the features that you specifically want. The features are the main element, and it's vital for you to buy one that fits into your lifestyle. Most people tend to feel that the expensive ones are the best that you can find, but you really need to see what they offer to make sure that you get one you personally like.

WiFi or 3G

Only get 3G if you plan on using it outside your home. The reason why many people get the Kindle wireless 3G is because they plan to bring it around with them whenever they travel. If you don't plan on traveling too much, why not just get the WiFi version and save money.

Reviews

Reading reviews can help you decide whether or not the Kindle wi-fi reader you want is good enough based on other peoples experiences. Most people tend to read reviews that are biased, so try to read the ones that are true and real. By reading reviews, you'll find out what other people consider important rather than depending on the sales page itself on Amazon.

The best Kindle that you will find

One of the best ones you'll find is the Kindle Fire. It's basically the all-in-one Kindle that's very similar to the iPad. Most people like this version because you can watch unlimited amounts of motion pictures on their database as long as you are an Amazon premium member. You can also look through thousands of different books, which you can just borrow for a few days, and then come back later on in the future. This is extremely effortless and a great way to save money. You'll find this to be a absolute great money saver. The list of films and television shows that they let you watch is simply amazing, and it's so cool how you can come across over 100,000 different shows and movies with commercial free viewing.

Kindle products are made very nicely, and you'll be shocked at how many things you can do on all of these Kindle products. It may be hard to choose the perfect Kindle wi-fi reader that suits your specifications the best. But you can be sure to find the right one as long as you keep the ideas above in mind when shopping. Everything from the price to the features, try to keep it all in perspective before making a purchase.

Who is the Kindle DX Perfect For?

Lets first start by saying the Kindle is not perfect for everyone. Not everyone is going to want to read on a smaller device, some like the feel of books in their hands, or don't want to spend the money on the device.

But there are also a number of people who this device is perfect for, and you might be one of them. Here are 6 groups of people who are perfect candidates for buying a Kindle.

1.) College Students. For college students this is the perfect answer to the wallet emptying, and should crushing practice of buying textbooks. Some students spend upwards of $500 per semester on books. However, with the Kindle you can download your textbook right to your hands for a minuscule percent of the cost. By the end of your 1st semester, you may just pay for your Kindle with your potential savings. Plus no more lugging books around campus.

2.) Avid readers. If you're an avid reader, then you already know that you go through books faster than some people go through water. It can get expensive, space consuming and frustrating dealing with certain bookstores. By investing in the Kindle your taking the time, hassle and clutter out of your reading. Upload books in seconds, pay substantially less and even get some free. It's a dream come true for avid readers!

3.) Newspaper readers. They say the newspaper industry is dying...but the Kindle is doing its damnedest to save it. With the Kindle, you can get your Newspaper delivered right to your Kindle, almost any major paper in the world. Get them all right in your fingertips, without the ink stains or mountain of recycling.

4.) Book club enthusiasts. Keep up to date with your book club without all the expense. Save as much as $15 per book each week. Heck by the end of the year you might be able to take a vacation on the savings.

5.) Travelers. Pack all your favorite titles and the newest bestsellers without weighing down your suitcase. In addition, never have to read the in flight magazine again.

6.) Environmentalists. Save paper and trees. With the Kindle, you'll never have to feel guilty about killing another tree.

These are the 6 types of people the Kindle DX is perfect for. It provides solutions for so many people, the only question you have to ask now is...

Are you one of these people?

Thanks

Brandon

Amazon Kindle Dx Review - The Perfect E-Book Reader

A certainty about the future for book lovers is the way all of us will be reading our favorite books. With the rising popularity of e-books on the Internet, there is also a gaining need for e-book readers such as the Amazon Kindle DX. There are many choices out there, and choosing the right one for you can get confusing. Some of the main features to look at when deciding on your e-reader is the size of the library available, the size of the reading display, the weight of the reader, battery life, and WiFi accessibility. After considering all the available features, a smart choice would be to go for the Amazon Kindle DX because it is top notch for all the features discussed above.

The Amazon DX is the the 2nd generation of the Kindle reader. The DX offers you a huge 9.7" which reads like real paper because of the 16 shades of gray for clearer text and images. The Kindle DX also provides the user with new e-ink technology. This e-ink feature makes it possible to read the Kindle even in direct sunlight. One of the great features of the Kindle DX that is often overlooked is the support of PDF files. PDF files are quickly becoming the preferred file format for many e-books. Previous versions of e-book readers required the user to go online to convert their PDF e-books into compatible files. The built in PDF reader in the Kindle takes all that extra work out of it and lets you get right down to reading.

The ability to access wireless Internet with the built in WiFi on the Kindle DX, the reader now has the ability to access over 360,000 books, newspapers, magazines, and blogs, including access to the New York Times Best Sellers list. One of the great new Kindle features is the read to me feature. Read-to-me is a text to speech

feature that can read your on screen text to you out loud if you so wish.

The size of the Kindle is what draws many readers to it. The new Kindle DX can hold up to 3,500 books and documents, which provides you with hours upon hours of reading. A bulky e-reader device can also become cumbersome to certain readers if they are not use to it. The Kindle solves those problem with its size of only 1/3 of an inch! That is the size of most magazines so the Kindle won't leave you fumbling around with a bulky e-book reader device.

I know making a deciding on an e-reader can be a tough decision but just take a look at all the features that interest you, and better suit your reading situation. An e-reader can also make a very wonderful gift for an avid reader that will use this great new technology for years to come.

If you are interested in more information on the Kindle DX features take a look at my blog post where I discuss all the features of the Amazon Kindle DX.

The Secret to Finding the Perfect Kindle 3 Covers!

The Kindle 3 is also known as the "Kindle with keyboard" or just "Kindle Keyboard". The covers available for this model of Kindle just exploded as the popularity of the Kindle grew amazingly. Here are some details on just two places to look. The secret to finding the perfect Kindle 3 covers is to look at as many places as possible. The right ones will reach out and grab you when you see them.

Amazon, the creators of the Kindle, did their own leather cover with a built-in light for the Kindle 3, which differed from third party covers with a built-in light in that it ran from the Kindle's own battery. The light extends and retracts from the top-right corner of the cover. Extending the light turns it on, while retracting it turns it off. LED technology is used for the light, giving very efficient usage of battery power for good bright light. Some have queried the fact that the LED is not replaceable; however since LEDs have such a long life time, they are likely to outlast both the Kindle and its cover, so replacement is not a problem. Because the light uses the Kindle 3's own internal battery to power it, battery life in the Kindle is reduced when using the light, although users report that since the Kindle has such an amazing battery life to begin with, the battery life with the light is still very acceptable. An interesting bonus is that if the user falls asleep reading, the light turns off when the Kindle goes to sleep, thus saving battery power compared to covers for the Kindle 3 which use separate batteries. This cover is also much lighter (pardon the pun!) than others using separate batteries.

Another place which is definitely worth looking at for Kindle 3 covers is Etsy. Etsy is not a manufacturer or supplier of Kindle 3 covers per se, but a marketplace primarily for handmade products, and has a huge range of covers for all models of Kindle from small suppliers offering their goods through Etsy's website. All the covers seem to be made of fabric, and the range of prints and styles is just enormous. There are literally thousands of them! Would you like leopard skin print? Or flowers? Or animals playing among the toadstools? It's all there, and lots and lots more. Would you like button clasp, tab clasp, velcro clasp or no clasp at all? All there, in carefully handcrafted quality. These covers seriously make a statement about yourself. What if the statement that you would like to make changes from time to time? Then grab more than one! They also make great gifts for family members and friends. Remember that the cover doesn't just have to make a statement about the owner, it can make a statement from you to the receiver of the gift too.
