Amazon Kindle DX - 3 Reasons You Should Get It

There are so many reasons why one should purchase the Amazon Kindle DX, but all that anyone really needs is perhaps 3 really good reasons to do so. Here are three really great reasons for purchasing this e-book reader versus any others which may be currently available today:

1) The Amazon Kindle DX is lightweight and very portable. It can hold up to 3,500 e-books, magazines and newspapers in one small and easy to operate device; try carrying around that many printed books everywhere that you go.

2) The device is completely wireless and never needs to be connected to a personal computer. It features the integrated "whispernet" technology which allows you access to the World Wide Web to download new books, magazines and even to gain access to blogs and the all-important site, Wikipedia. It is perfect for anyone who is studying.

3) The price is right when you factor in all of the included features of the unit which includes a patented viewing screen that will automatically rotate when the device is; and mimics the look of actual paper. It can handle PDF files natively and can even play MP3 and AAC audio files. It allows you to view your photographs and can even read a book to you.

It really is amazing just how much stuff can actually be packed into such a small device. So while you are out shopping for that perfect e-book reader, then look no further then the amazing little Amazon Kindle DX, the epitome of e-book readers currently available on the market today. While you could always opt for something a little bit cheaper, you will be losing many of the great benefits which can only be found built into the Kindle standard as basic features which makes this particular device the must-have item on anyone's list this year.

Every Aspiring Author Should Be Thinking Amazon Kindle and E-Books

E-books have been around for over a decade but until recently, they hadn't contributed much in the way of book sales. This all changed when Amazon, the world's largest book seller, released a proprietary e-book reader called the 'Kindle' in November of 2007. Since then, things have turned 180 degrees for the struggling e-book market.

Authors, especially unknown, self published authors are the ones who have most benefited from this emerging market...and for good reason. Because Amazon owns the Kindle, they constantly need new books to include in the Kindle library. All an author has to do to take advantage of this is to produce his book in the Kindle format. A paperback version would compliment it, but it isn't necessary. Amazon distributes both.

Notice I said, distributes, not publish. Publishing and distribution are two completely different things. You can sell your book without a publisher. In most cases, 'you' will be listed as the publisher. But it's hard to sell books without someone to distribute them. This is where Amazon shines. After all...that's what they built their business on, selling books.

Distribution is the main problem new authors face. They have no way to get their books in front of potential buyers. Sure, they can sell them on their website and maybe through some local bookstores, but neither of these channels usually have much selling power. Getting a book into major brick and mortar bookstores is nearly impossible without an established publisher.

By making your book available for Amazon's Kindle, it can be seen by millions of potential buyers and for virtually nothing. Remember, if people can't find your book, they can't buy it. By having it on Amazon, people will find it.

Converting your book into Amazon's format can be a little tricky, but with the right help, it shouldn't be much of a problem. Your book can be uploaded to Amazon's DTP (digital text platform) directly from your computer. If you've written it in Word, you can save it as an HTML file and the DTP will perform the conversion in a minute or two.

There are several steps to consider along the way though. You'll need to know how to strip out the extra control codes that Word inserts into your file. You'll need to know about copyrights, ISBN numbers, setting up your Amazon account, business license, direct deposits, title pages, author credits, and a few other things that though they're not mandatory, they are still worth knowing about.

Most aspiring authors think that they're going to have to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars to get their book out in the market place. That's just not so...if you know how to do it. The bottom line is...you can get your book online and for sale in Amazon's store for nothing.

Amazon isn't the only player in the e-book arena. Sony, Apple, Barnes & Nobel, and several others are getting into it too. Just under 2 million E-book readers were sold last year. In 2010, this is projected to jump to between 7 and 8 million, and the trend is expected to continue.

If you've ever thought about writing a book, you couldn't have picked a better time. It's hard to go wrong when you can get it into the world's biggest book store, for nothing.

The best way to get detailed information on how to get your book into Amazon's bookstore is to log onto Amazon and type, "how to publish kindle" into their search engine. Several pages of 'how-to' books will come up. The most useful books will be those listed first. Look for the least expensive with at least a (3) star rating and you'll be good to go.

Here's the icing on the cake. Since its inception, Amazon authors have been getting a royalty of 35% of the retail selling price for each Kindle book Amazon sells. As of June 30th, 2010, this royalty will be 'doubled' to 70%. That's a 100% raise!

This is an exciting time to be a new author. Never in the history of writing could an author get a book in front of millions of readers so easily, if at all! As e-book readers drop in price, e-book sales will grow exponentially. If you've written a book but never thought you could get it to market, think again. With Amazon, the Kindle, and little knowledge of how to do it, the next time someone asks, "What do you do for a living?" You can tell them, "I'm an author!"

Kindle DX Vs Kindle With Global Wireless - Which Should You Buy?

Now that US only 6" Kindle is being phased out (it's no longer available to buy new at Amazon) there are two choices for those who wish to buy a wireless digital book reading device. These choices are the Kindle DX and the Kindle with Global Wireless.

Each of these devices has it's strengths and which one you should choose really depends on what your own needs are (or the needs of the person you're buying it for, if it's a gift.)

Most obviously if you live outside of the United States, the Global Kindle is your only choice because the DX only works within the US, while the global version (as it's name implies) works in countries all over the world.

If you live inside the US then the choice comes down to saving money by buying the global wireless version or getting the expanded size (both as far as display goes and the amount of hard drive space it has) that the DX version offers.

The global version is just six inches diagonally while the DX version is 9.7 inches. The global version can hold up to about 1,500 books while the DX version can hold about 3,500 books.

Along with the expanded size, another advantage that the larger Kindle can offer is an auto-rotation screen. For example if you flip the device on it's side, the text on the screen will automatically flip too so that you can read it that way. This can be quite helpful with looking at certain types of material (such as some pictures.)

Other than the differences in size and where the wireless functions, these two devices are very similar and they both have all of the following features:

Access to over 360,000 books, magazines, and newspapers on the Amazon Kindle Store.
Ability to download any book, magazine, or newspaper in just 60 seconds.
Very long battery life. Can be used for days without a recharge.
No monthly wireless charges (similar to a GPS system.)
A "paper like" screen that is easy on the eyes.
"Read to Me" feature which turns all of your books into audio books.
Built-in dictionary.
Wireless access to Wikipedia and a basic web browser.

Why Should You Publish Your Next Book on Kindle?

Publishing has traditionally been a struggle and those who have succeeded in having their books published were those who have contacts so that they can navigate among the many different agents who can sign their works into a publishing company.

This is not happening any longer especially with the coming of Kindle publishing which literally anyone can do personally and in the convenience of your own home.

Unfortunately, many people do not yet know that they can publish on Kindle, and neither do they realize that publishing on this exciting new platform is even better because the eBook reaches your customers faster than it would be when using traditional methods of publishing.

Kindle eBook reading devices have been around for quite sometime although until recently not many people owned one.

But that's changing and ebooks are now outselling print ones.

There is now a new reason to publish on Kindle because KindleApp has facilitated the incorporation of Kindle books which are digitally downloadable onto computers and mobile devices such as the iPhone.

This app ensures that more and more people can now get Kindle books even if they don't have the actual device, which is much better than even a couple of years ago when you had to use the device sold by Amazon.

If this is not a great move that could encourage one to publish on this platform it shows how publishing in traditional styles will soon be eclipsed, yet one more reason why writers should be publishing electronically.

There are other factors that are reasonable and should encourage an upcoming writer to publish ebooks.

These factors include the target readers and the convenience of electronic publishing.

Using Amazon's proprietary format in publishing ensures that the individual publishes their own work, and, therefore, one knows for sure that his or her book will reach the readers in the time that he or she wishes it to be rather than having to rely on publishing agents who have long lead times.

Additionally, the current generation of readers has access to gadgets such as Apple mobile devices which have apps or that could support apps such as the Kindleapp for reading the files.

If these are the people that you're targeting - and that probably should be the case - then the best thing to do is to publish in Kindle format because you are then sure that they will be able access and read your book.

When publishing with traditional methods such as using agents for the big publishing companies, only a fraction of your target group of readers will read the book for various reasons.

One of the reasons is that the book will almost certainly be more expensive than the digital version and with the current economic climate a higher price may not be so appealing.

Secondly, there's a kind of "coolness" in reading books electronically rather than printed out on piles of chopped up dead trees.

Some writers may be worried that when they publish on Kindle they may lose royalties or could subject their works to plagiarism and theft. However, as a writer, your should not be worried because Amazon runs the accounts that you open before you can be ready to publish your book and they have rules and mechanisms for ensuring that these rules are followed.

When it comes to royalties, it is safest way since Amazon charges all those who download complete books from Kindle and pays authors royalties of up to 70% of the retail price.

Don't hesitate, take control of you publications, and publish on Kindle.

11 Points Why You Should Buy The Latest Model Kindle

If you have looked into purchasing some sort of ebook reader until recently there were not too many viable options available. Even worse yet not many consistent ways to get ebook downloads.

This all changed recently with Amazon.com unveiling its newest creation. The Kindle.

Amazon Kindle is an e-book reader developed by Amazon.com subsidiary Lab126 which uses wireless connectivity to enable users to shop for, download, browse, and read e-books, magazines, newspapers, blogs and other digital media.

Wow, just think of all those years in high school when you had to carry and purchase all those heavy books in your knapsack. Those days are over, thanks to this new technology. All you need is a Kindle and a tiny notebook to carry to school.

Imagine how technology evolves. You won't regret buying the latest Kindle. Here are some facts about the latest Amazon Kindle:

All-new, High Contrast E link screen - 50% better contrast with latest E Ink Pearl technology
Read in bright sunlight - no glare
New and Improved Fonts - new crisper, dark fonts
New Sleek Design - 21% smaller body while keeping the same 6" size reading area
17% lighter - only 8.5 ounces, weighs less than a paperback
Battery life of up to two months - a single charge lasts up to two months with wireless off
Double the storage - up to 3,500 books
Built-in Wi-Fi - shop and download books in less than 60 seconds
20% Faster Page turns - seamless reading
Enhanced PDF Reader - with dictionary lookup, notes and highlights
Webkit-Based Browser - browse the web over Wi-Fi

There is one disadvantage I came across on the Kindle and that was touchscreen. This product would be much better if it carried touchscreen technology. Maybe the new Kindle 4 will have that type of feature included.

With those amazing facts stated above, you will not have any second thought on buying the kindle. It is also a ready to use device, no set up, no software to install, no computer required.

It is not limited to just news and published books, the Kindle can also read many blogs and used to surf the Internet using the built in web browser.

So, if you are in the market for a device which can carry all your current reading as well as your daily news reads, then you should buy Kindle which is right for you. The device does prevent you from carrying all your reading material.

The Amazon Kindle - Should You Buy One? A Quick Review

So what is Kindle: Amazon's New Wireless Reading Device?

Basically it's a very cool little gadget that allows you to read newspapers, books, magazines, blogs and other cool stuff on this little handheld machine.

It is wireless which means that you can take it anywhere and really lightweight (no more lugging around heavy books!).

But the best thing about the Kindle is that you can download over 90,000 books including nearly all of the New York Times Best Sellers and have them on your reader in less than a minute. Who needs ever to go to a book store again?

I became interested in the Kindle a few months back and just had to get one, after all I am a bit of a gadget freak, and I'm really pleased I did as it's so ultra handy. I'm in Australia, so getting the latest US newspapers and books usually means waiting around for them to be delivered to our bookstore and they are sometimes at least 2 weeks to a month late. Not anymore! This little beauty means I can have them nearly instantly.

At first I was a bit worried about how easy it would be to read off a little screen, but it is actually surprisingly easy. Apparently the technology works by producing a paper and ink effect (like a regular book) so it's very easy on the eyes and you don't get that 'glare' like you do reading from a computer screen.

If you have a favorite part in a book, it's really easy to search and find the information you are looking for too.

Another thing that I've found really useful is that you have instant access to Wikipedia which comes in handy when you are arguing with your Dad over some obscure fact!

Reading the reviews over at Amazon, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the Kindle isn't all it's cracked up to be, but on further investigation you will notice that most of the negative reviews are from people that don't even own a Kindle!

There main arguments being that it's too expensive or why would they want to read a book on a little machine instead of their computer. Interestingly enough these were the same arguments we heard about cell phones and iPods - and look how popular they are now!

Overall I think the Kindle is very cool, and if you can afford it then this little gadget is definitely recommended.

Web Marketing Strategies: Why You Should Publish on Kindle

More and more people are publishing their eBooks on Kindle. Should you publish on Kindle? Yes, and here's why.

What is the Kindle?

The Kindle is an electronic device made by Amazon.com that is about the size of a large paperback book. On this device, people read electronic versions of books. Because of this, they don't have a traditional computer-type screen. Rather, they have a screen designed to mimic what a printed book looks like. With the Kindle, though, you can change the size of the type, zoom in on a page, search for specific words and jump to a chapter without all that inconvenient fumbling around with pages.

There are also apps that let people read Kindle books on their computer, their phones and their tablet devices such as the iPad.

If you are marketing on the web, you should always be looking for ways to get your ideas and your name in front of more and more people. Sales of Kindle books have boomed in the last year or so. If you already have any free reports, any eBooks that you've created to either give away or sell, any series of blog posts that you could put together into a book, you can put them on Kindle and sell them to one of the largest markets on the planet: Amazon.com.

Is it Hard?

Getting a book ready for Kindle is fairly straight forward. For a simple report or eBook, simpler is better. There are lots of instructional videos and forums on the Internet that can help you get everything in order and uploaded.

Sing up for a free account at Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) to get started. You set your own prices for your eBooks and Amazon only takes a small percentage. You get the rest. You also get your name in front of more people, and you can include live links back to your site or sites within the book itself.

Be sure to use key words in your book title and the book description. Also, do an Amazon search for other books on your topic to see what they have used. Check Google Keyword Tools to see what people are generally searching for. When you use this information, it will make it much easier for people to find your eBook.

Getting your eBook on Kindle is a great way to get people to know about you, get people to your web pages AND make a buck or two.

So Why Should You Buy the Kindle DX?

I'll assume if you're reading this article you've come to the conclusion already that you're in the market for an e-reader. Therefore, I will not belabor that point.

I'm sure you've narrowed your choices down to the big three

1.) The Kindle

2.) The iPad

3.) The Sony Reader (and maybe even Barnes and Nobles nook)

Now I'm not going to review all these for you. TO me the choice is the Kindle. And I'll give you 5 features that I feel really push it over the top.

1.) Its Electronic ink technology and lighting make the Kindle easy to read. Computer screens have a tendency to annoy the eyes, but the Kindle's special ink technology solves this big problem.

2.) It holds over 1,500 books so you'll never be without a book. You can read and read and never run out.

3.) The Kindle now has a PDF reader, so you can now download your important work PDF and read them more comfortably.

4.) You get FREE wireless coverage with the Kindle, no extra costs, and its global so you can upload from almost anywhere.

5.) The read-to-me feature, with this feature the Kindle will read the text from your book back to you. It's like an audio book and text book all in one. This is a great feature for road trips or plane rides. Just plug in your ear buds and let the Kindle read to you!

These great features will only enhance your reading experience, which brings me to my next point.

To me the Kindle is the best choice, because it's the best e-reader...point blank. While the iPad is a tremendous product, it falls short as an e-reader. It is built for other things and only doubles as an e-reader because it looked like an attractive market for Apple.

It's really a Netbook.

Apple's biggest fault as an E-Reader, is also one of its biggest strengths as a product. Its screen. You see the iPad screen is absolutely gorgeous, top notch. But for an e-reader its terrible, because it's too much like a computer screen.

Computer screens tend to wear on your eyes after long periods of time. They tire your eyes out, and almost hurt them. Its due to the bright colors and glare that comes off the screen. A good e-reader cannot have this.

By contrast, the Kindle DX screen is nearly perfect. Amazon's electronic ink technology makes books come alive electronically, and the screen contrast is so perfect you can read for hours without the slightest sign or symptom of annoyance.

Now I know I've only really commented on the iPad and Kindle...but this is intentional. You see the Sony reader is nice, but quite frankly not as good as the Kindle, and the Nook is just not far enough along to even discuss.

If you're looking for a top-notch E-reader, your only choice is the Kindle DX.

Thanks

Brandon

Should I Buy A Kindle Fire Or Some Other Android Tablet?

Odds are, if you're here, you are looking at buying the Kindle Fire. Perhaps you are a Kindle owner wanting to upgrade, or maybe you are checking out the Fire as an e-reader and tablet. As far as pricing, it does not get better than the Kindle Fire. Amazon unveiled their custom Android tablet in November of 2011 with a price tag under $200. It truly was a calculated move just before Christmas. In no time, it was on Amazon's top sellers list.

The very first Kindle was released in 2007. The gadget was about the size of a moderate paperback book designed specifically for reading. When Amazon made available the 3rd generation of Kindle, which basically mirrored the 1st with the same E-Ink technology found in black and white only, Barnes and Noble introduced the Nook Color. People started customizing their Android powered Nooks not only to read books, but to play 3D games and run programs in color. The Nook Color totally changed the 7-inch tablet market.

It seemed to be a no-brainer for Amazon to respond to Barnes and Noble with the Kindle Fire. The Kindle Fire runs a custom version of Google's Android Gingerbread os. The extremely useful and user-friendly interface, known as the Carousel, makes it a straight forward gadget for everyone. The Kindle Fire is the first Kindle with a fully functional web browser. It isn't just any old browser either. It's known as Silk and provides users a very computer-like Internet experience.

Since Amazon happens to be a web-based store of books and music, they have used the Fire to monopolize entertainment. Along with the Fire, they rolled out a free month of membership for their Prime program allowing users ability to access more than 20,000 videos and TV shows. Users can get just about any type of content for the Kindle including Android apps. There is a large selection of this content that can be found completely free, consequently it fits any budget.

The Fire retrieves content in just a few seconds using a Wi-Fi connection. There is plenty of storage capacity, but any limitation is squelched by means of the free cloud storage supplied through Amazon. The content downloaded to your Kindle is backed up online using your Amazon account. The focus on reading has not faded. Kindle books are now full color, and you don't need an external light to read the screen.

You might be thinking "what's bad about the Kindle Fire?" Why is it so inexpensive? Amazon designed the Fire to take on the big boys such as the iPad and also other popular tablets. The cost alone makes it a competitor. The functionality is fabulous. The negative would have to be in the restrictions put on the Kindle Fire by Amazon. Users can only download apps from the Amazon App Store unless you sideload them by connecting the Fire to your personal computer. Amazon conveniently does not include the cord necessary to do this with the Fire. Luckily, if you own a third generation Kindle, the cord provided with that device works or you can purchase one separately on Amazon's website.

The biggest provider of Android apps, the Google Android Market, won't work on the Kindle Fire without major manipulation which will void the warranty. Also, people who have used an iPad will see the lag in the Android Os. Then again, the performance has been drastically improved in the Android 4.0 OS. Many will determine this makes the Kindle Fire a substandard device. Others will determine that such small things make it well worth its low price. If you can get around those few things, then the Kindle Fire might just be the device for you.

The New Kindle - Should I Get One For My Wife?

My wife hinted to me that she might like a Kindle for Christmas, back in November, I pretended not to take much notice, but secretly started plotting. I was more than a little surprised as I know how much she loves 'books' - and considered this to be the whole 'book' experience, turning pages and carrying the tome around with her as she devoured it page by page over a few days.

I decided to take a chance, went online and ordered the latest (with 3G of course) and placed the wrapped box among all the other gifts under the tree.

The day arrived, and she was visibly delighted when she opened the box, and extra happy when she opened the second box to reveal a very smart tan leather wallet for the device. The day was naturally very busy, and it wasn't until late that night that she got into bed with her new toy.

Well, long story short, my wife and her Kindle are now virtually inseparable. She loves the look and feel of the device, and the whole reading experience using a Kindle, previewing books, turning pages automatically, setting bookmarks, and so on.

Once she figured out how to find books and download them in 60 seconds (actually my 12 year old daughter showed her!) there was no going back. She really enjoys being able to read the first few chapters too before deciding whether to buy a book, and she is now looking forward to her next book club meeting, where she plans to reveal her new friend.

She feels there will be mixed reaction. I am more confident - I know how much she loves her books, and how quickly she converted. I'm not saying she will abandon paper books for good, but they will have to work hard to get her attention now I reckon.

It is so easy to use the new Kindle, and Amazon seem to have succeeded in their goal of making the reading experience all, and the device becoming 'invisible'. This new generation of Kindle is perfect for reading outside and for long periods of time too. She now has a new friend, and companion.

Without a doubt, the size and weight of the new kindle is fantastic too. It's smaller than the last edition by a significant margin. The new Kindle is the perfect 'book' size. Smaller would be unmanageable and larger wouldn't feel nearly as good. This is a device that you can hold up, read, and just forget that it's there.

The new Kindle also offers a better viewing contrast than previous editions, and it looks fantastic. She has no trouble seeing the screen in dim light or in bright sunlight - you can read almost anywhere now.

Is Kindle the only model on the market? - No. But for all the reasons mentioned it is a super device, and would be hard to beat for quality and value in my opinion. I am getting used to the fact that I may become a 'Kindle widower'. But my wife is happy, and this is good enough for me!

Besides I can always borrow it from time to time - and store some of my own favorites...after all, it is probably going to be in her bag at all times, and easily available. May be best just to get my own one now that I think of it.

Overall, I have to give the Kindle my blessing, and highly recommend it as one of those life-changing inventions that we will all own in the near future. And soon we will be able to share books with other Kindle users, which will be a great addition to the kindle arsenal, and for her book club!

Amazon Kindle 3G Vs Wifi Only - Which Ebook Reader Should You Buy?

Amazon's Kindle 3 has caught everyone's attention. There 2 models available: the Kindle 3G (3G + WiFi) and the Kindle WiFi only.

What is the difference between Kindle 3G and WiFi?

The 3 G version comes with two color options: graphite and white. The WiFi is available in Graphite only. Also, the 3G gives you mobile connectivity anywhere you are and access in over 100 countries. The WiFi allows access to the web or the Kindle store, only when you are near a WiFi hotspot.

However, the WiFi has a major advantage: its price. It available at the ridiculously low price of $139, which means that it's 50 dollars cheaper than the 3G and it offers almost the same features.

Some of the common features of the Kindle 3G and the WiFi:

PDF files can be viewed at their actual size or with a zoom of 150%, 200% and 300%. You can also simply adjust the file to the width of the screen. The contrast can also be adjusted for a better reading experience.
You have the ability to change the font size and type, the length of the lines and the characters, but you can not use your own font types unless you unlock the device.
You can set bookmarks, highlights, keep notes, and search the text (the search function is not possible in PDFs, because they are scanned as images). There are two built-in dictionaries for American and British English.
Instead of a page number, there are locations. You can browse through the table of contents, the transition to location, the return to previous location and of course, you can use the buttons for the next and previous page that are on both sides of the device.
You can use the free applications provided by Amazon to read the e-books at your PC, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, BlackBerry, Android mobile and tablet PC by syncing the bookmarks and notes to your Kindle (it requires Internet connection).
Kindle is available in graphite and white, with the same technical characteristics.
The warranty is for 1 year. The extended warranty is for 2 years, but only applies to the United States.

Accessories:

With this device you get the USB cable needed to connect to a computer, but you do not get any case for the device. However, it is not very safe to carry the equipment unprotected. Another disadvantage is that the charger that comes with the device does not support the voltage in Europe. So, if you live in Europe you will have to charge the device only through your computer (fortunately the battery lasts for about a month). You can also choose to buy an adapter for European sockets from Amazon at a very low cost.

Warning Kindle 1 Users - Here's What You Should Know Before Upgrading to Kindle 2

If you're an Amazon Kindle 1 owner and are considering shelling out another $359 for an upgrade to the Kindle 2, doing so could turn out to be a frustrating experience. Here are some of the hitches that users of the Kindle 1 found out when they decided to make the transition from the original device to the newer, sleeker version:

You cannot transfer your stored content directly from your computer to the new device. Amazon would have to reformat all the files for the Kindle 2 before you can download it to the new device.
You cannot always successfully retrieve your purchased content from Amazon's servers. Amazon doesn't keep copies of newspaper or magazine subscriptions for more than 6 days, and books can be "pulled" from their list. With that in mind, you'd best store all your purchased content in your own computer.
You can no longer use your SD cards in the K2. The new device no longer supports an external memory slot so organizing your content will be more difficult now, plus, you won't have the "unlimited" storage capability that SD cards offer.
You won't have the ease of the Jump Ahead and Jump Back feature. That's because these are not available in the new Kindle. If the Table of Contents doesn't work, as is the usual problem, be ready to click through each of the pages until you reach your desired page.
You won't be able to replace the batteries yourself. With an extended warranty for $65 however, you can still send your ebook reading device the following year and have it replaced.
Your reading experience won't be as easy on the eyes as you may expect. Some users attribute it to the silver grey screen that the K2 has. There is also that bothersome glare from any source of light that when reflected on the device's screen on certain angles, doesn't quite make for a pleasurable reading experience.
You can't expect any favors from Amazon just because you're an original Kindle owner. Sorry, no discounts for an upgrade to the new model are offered.

Don't get me wrong here. I still love me some Kindle 2. But if you're an owner of the original device with tons of content and used to its workings, making the transition to the newer model could be a potential nightmare. Once you learn to overcome the difficulties though, it should be worth the effort. And whether you decide to stick it out with the original or embrace the new technology, this ebook reading device from Amazon remains to be the gadget to beat in the ebook industry.

Bad News For Authors of Printed Books - This Is Why You Should Learn How To Publish On Kindle

Why should you care about how to publish on Kindle, if you're already selling books? Because the biggest online book shop in the world, Amazon, recently published new and shocking facts: they sell more Kindle versions than printed books.

Last summer, Amazon revealed that the Kindle eBooks sale now was ahead of hardcover versions. However, since January 2011, even the paperback sales were surpassed. For every 100 paperbacks, they sold, they sold 115 Kindle eBooks. And equally since the beginning of that year, Amazon has reported selling three times as many Kindle books as hardcover.

What does this mean for you?

It signifies that you should expect to sell less books this year and in the years to come, unless you how to publish on Kindle.

Actually, even if you're publishing eBooks already, you should still consider Kindle versions as a supplement. People, who are already used to read eBooks, will love the convenience of reading it on a Kindle.

So, how difficult and expensive is it to self-publish a Kindle book?

Good news! It's easy and free!

You need to create a customer account with Amazon, and to log into the Kindle Direct Publishing area. There, you have to fill out a form with your name and address, after which you're taken to your publisher dashboard.

Use the dashboard to add a new title, and again, you have to fill out the forms with the title of your book, a description, author names, etc.

You'll also have to upload a cover and the book files.

There are several available formats to send your text in. The best format is HTML, and most word processing programmes can save or export to that format. If you include illustrations in your book, remember to save those pictures in a folder, and compress folder and files to a zip-file.

When you've uploaded the content, you can do a preview in Kindle format to see, how your book will look, once it's finished.

In your next step, you'll have to decide upon a royalty form as well as a price. You can choose between 35% and 70%. The conditions for the latter is that you own the copyright over the material, and that you price the book between $2.99 and $9.99. Do a bit of calculation, and you'll see that it's probably better to pick $9.99 than $19.95.

Now that you know how to publish on Kindle, you only have to concentrate on writing more books.

Why Should I Buy Kindle 3G for Sale? Amazon's Free Wireless Device Is A Marvel

With the advent of the latest technology, here comes the new wave. You can buy kindle 3G for sale, but why? I am going to excite you with the details to begin with.

The new addition to the technological world are the wireless ebook readers and among them Amazon's kindle e reader is the leading product. There are four highly successful versions available: kindle 1, kindle 2, kindle DX and Kindle 3 with US and international connectivity available now as well.

The thing that I enjoyed most is the screen; it makes the reading experience more than best. The E link technology along with the contrast screen not only makes the reading experience the true pleasure but it is also similar to the one reading from a printed book. This means now there are no more strains on the eyes and no need to carry heavy books with you while traveling.

The second reason to buy this kindle device is that it comes with the possibility of choosing from thousands of content online. There are about 200,000 documents and you can select from, a feature which was impossible until now without this digital device. Books, newspapers, blogs, all these can be immediately accessed at the click of a button.

The price list of the new and used is as follows, if you buy them from Amazon:

Kindle Wireless Reading Device, Wi-Fi, 6" Display, Graphite - Latest Generation - Amazon Price: $139.00 Kindle 3G Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G + Wi-Fi, 6" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally - Latest Generation- Amazon Price: $189.00 Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G, 9.7" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally - Latest Generation - Amazon Price: $379.00 - Used Price: $358.00 Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G, 9.7" Display, White, 3G Works Globally - 2nd Generation- Amazon Price: $359.00 - Used Price: $269.00

The experience with kindle makes two things clear to me. The screen size is the most noticeable change and is lighter in weight, than the previous model and with extended features. It is user friendly and can be carried anywhere. In addition to that it comes in an affordable price range. E link display, WiFi connectivity and the navigation with the joystick, enhanced battery life; screen features, are just some of the exclusive features that will make you yearn for it.
