Why Publishing For Kindle Makes Good Sense

Publishing for Kindle makes good sense for several reasons and in this article we are going to explore some of them. The digital age has brought us into a new era of publishing. It has never been easier for an author to get his or her book out in front of millions of potential buyers. No longer do authors have to send out their manuscripts to publishing houses and hold their breath waiting to see if it has been accepted for publication.

The first freedom authors had from publishing houses was self-publishing. However the cost was pretty high for having a bunch of books printed and distributed. And if the book failed to sell you had a bunch of books stockpiled in your garage or basement, taking up space.

Then came print on demand. This is where places like LuLu would print out the book only when it was sold. This kept the author from having any upfront expenses and from having to stockpile unsold books. But, the author was still primarily responsible for promoting the book and getting it out in front of people for them to buy.

Then along came digital and the introduction of e-readers like the Nook and the Kindle and publishing became a whole new species. Life became much easier for authors wanting to sell their books to the masses. It even made it easy for anybody to become a published author.

So here are the reasons publishing for Kindle makes good sense.

First of all Kindle is the largest selling e-book reader around. More people read books on it then any other e-reader so it just makes sense to publish for it.

Second, books aren't the only writings you have to write for it. You can publish blogs, reports, essays, comics and just about any other writings you can think of.

Third, Amazon will sell your book for you in their Kindle store and will also do promotion for the book (you should also do some promotion). You don't have to worry about stockpiling unsold books because for one thing there are no physical books in the first place.

Fourth, you don't have to worry about getting a rejection letter from some publisher. Your book will be published within hours and ready to get that first sell.

Last, but certainly not least, it will cost you nothing, nada, zilch, zero, not a dime and that's probably the best reason right there.

Those are just a few good reasons you should think about publishing for Kindle. There are plenty more, but I think those are some pretty good ones.
