Kindle and Nook Black Friday Deals - What's To Be Expected?

This 2011 Holiday shopping season, and specifically Black Friday and Cyber Monday, a highly sought after deal is undoubtedly going to be ebook readers. The two behemoths on the market, the Kindle and Nook, could possibly have deep discounts for a short time, if history repeats itself this year.

The Kindle Black Friday Deal of 2010

Last year there was a newest model of Kindle released, dubbed the Kindle 3 at the time. Most shoppers know this now as the "Kindle With Keyboard".

This newer model made the previous "Kindle 2" obsolete, and undoubtedly clogged Amazon warehouses, taking up room needed for newer devices.

Therefore, it was no surprise last year when Amazon offered the Kindle 2 at a deep discount for Black Friday.

So What Can Be Expected For Kindle In 2011?

Now there is a whole new family of Kindles that have been released. The "Kindle Touch" is looking to take the place of the "With Keyboard" version, and there is the Kindle Fire and new base model Kindle.

That leaves speculation open to whether or not the Kindle With Keyboard will be on special this Black Friday. Shoppers will have to wait and see.

How about newer versions of the Kindle like the Kindle Fire or Touch? This is not an impossible idea, since it is reported already that Amazon is losing money on the production of the Kindle Fire. They are obviously interested in the "back end" profits promised with these devices.

Nook Black Friday Deal of 2010

Last year Best Buy offered a deal on the Nook First Edition. This year the Nook Simple Touch is the latest E-Ink reader, leaving the First Edition to be obsolete, much like older Kindle models.

Speculation is all anyone can offer as to the nature of this year's Nook Black Friday Deal. There isn't an obvious product that fits the bill for a candidate. The Simple Touch has been out for quite some time this year, and the First Edition isn't even available on the website, so it's unclear if the device even exists anymore.

What Can Be Expected For Nook?

That leaves candidates for a discount this shopping season to be the newest models of Nook. The Nook Color could be seen as an obvious choice, since it is now overshadowed by the newest Nook Tablet. Of course, the Nook Simple Touch has been out for quite some time and could be just as likely a candidate.

Whatever the deals end up being this 2011 Black Friday and Cyber Monday for the Kindle and Nook, it's a sure bet they will be popular.

Where to Buy Amazon Kindle DX eBook Reader - Free Shipping & Super Saver Deals

If you are wondering where to buy Kindle DX ebook reader for sale, or find free-shipping and super saver deals, then either you already own Kindle 2 and considering an upgrade, or you are a book lover who is yet to make up his/her mind on which is a better option for your needs. With so much of buzz going around about the new kindle since May, you couldn't have remained untouched by it all. But as a buyer you need to know exactly the changes that went into the 3rd Generation portable device and if they suit your lifestyle or not. A comparison between the two versions, DX and the K2 is a must. Here is a quick review of the latest upgrade, to help in your final decision.

Bigger Display Screen

The most noticeable makeover is the new display Screen which is 1 and a half times bigger than K2. It's precisely 9.7 inches diagonally as opposed to 6 inches screen on the earlier version. There is a superb auto rotate feature which allows you to turn it in any direction and read your page in portrait or landscape position. Very handy for reading rich formatted texts, flat graphics, diagrams, charts, newspapers, google maps and weather reports. The e-link paper like technology makes it the most comfortable e-reader to read from without leaving a strain in the eye unlike computers.

Built-in PDF Support

The Gadget comes with a big breather, the built in PDF support. Last version could load pdfs but it happened in a round about way and was highly cumbersome. You had to go through the emailing process, to send your files to amazon for conversion and download it back for a minimal fee. Save the hassle with the new device because you can just download your pdf files online or from your comp via USB port now. The PDFs can display a wide variety of graphics and pages beautifully, using the faster processor with least loading time.

Overall Dimensions

The New Amazon Kindle is 10.4" in length, 7.2" in breadth and 0.38" in thickness while the Kindle 2 was much smaller measuring at 8" in length, 5.3" in breadth and 0.36" in thickness. There you see, you can't feel restricted anymore to go online or read your favorite best sellers.

Weight

There isn't an iota of doubt that they are both handy and extremely lightweight like a magazine, but DX is 18.9 ounces as compared to the Kindle 2's 10.2 ounces. Even then, the DX gives a more solid tactile feel like a real book now. It all depends on your usage and needs, which should allow you to decide if you want to compromise on the bigger screen or the weight.

File Storage Capacity

What good is a kindle without the file storage capacity. Although the increase in the disk space isn't a significant one, but it is still double than last time. DX holds a 4GB memory as against 2GB storage of Kindle 2. You can carry 3,500 books, reference manuals and documents which is 200% more from K2 which could carry 1,500 books only. The new storage capacity is a tempting one, you must agree.

Price

The price difference is not at all negligible. So it still remains one of the major deciding factor. The Kindle DX costs $ 489 as against the cheaper 2nd Gen version, still priced at $359. Although the DX seems more useful for reading and browsing purposes because its bigger and more ergonomic, but if you just want to enjoy the portability and don't mind the 6 inch screen, you may stick to K2. Students who can now empty their backpack for good, and professionals from various field will find it all worth the cost.

Final thoughts

So If you love to read, there's no way you would want to go back to K2, after having seen the DX in action. I am not saying the previous version has lost its sheen but, since we have a huge comparison in front of us, its reasonable to go for the extra investment. As an expert reviewer, I can tell you that it will have a resell value of at least 50% after 2 years. So your net cost will then come down to $ 245.

So if this review helped in your decision, the question still remains where to buy kindle DX reader from? It goes without mention, Amazon.com itself, the most reliable source for books and these electronic reader. They will offer you guaranteed accelerated delivery dates on your product, if you choose 1 or 2 day express shipping. Otherwise it will be delivered via standard shipping or international shipping. They also automatically refund the shipping cost if the delivery doesn't happen. You are also covered under 1 year warranty with an optional 2 year- extendable warranty, if you reside within U.S.

If you are still not sure about your final decision, equate your needs versus your budget and then take a call. You may also choose to read an extended Amazon Kindle DX Review and comparison Here.

Kindle Deals - Get the Best Out of the Internet For Your Kindle Experience

Amazon Kindle is quite a rage among readers all over the world. People who read and travel are especially curious if not eager to have one. While the media war about Kindle not being able to compete with certain other gadgets may not be accurate, it is still true that people would like to see a lower price when they check out the Kindle's price tag. Nobody dislikes a bargain and when one can find the best Kindle deals, there is definitely no refusing it.

The best Kindle deals are mostly found on the Internet. One of the first places you should go to, the place most people surprisingly missed is Amazon itself. You can get a discount as much as 10-20% if you do your search properly. Good value, product guarantee, as well as knowledge of the cat in the bag should count as a good, if not a great deal.

Be cautious about buying the product on auction site or online classifieds. You are not dealing with an authorized dealer who can be asked to take responsibility should anything go wrong. Keep in mind that these people are strangers and online reputation can be fabricated.

If you are interested still, RadarFarms.com offers an excellent service of tracking the best Kindle deals on both eBay and CraigList. The site gives a thumbnail visual of product offered, the time it was posted, along with short description of prices, bid numbers and auction expiration date, as well as a link for quick bid. Short description describes what is offered in CraigList along with a link to the classifieds site. RadarFarms also provides you with an 'Add to Watch List' button where you can collect all the offers you are interested in, to be perused deeper later on.

Some of the best offers available at the time of this writing, early May 2010, include a $225 6" Display Amazon Kindle 2.0, another item of the same product at $231 which covered additional accessories that comes in the package and a Kindle DX 9.7" Display at the price of $320. All of these are on eBay. CraigsList meanwhile listed an Amazon Kindle 2 eBook reader with case for $235 and another item of the same product for $200.

CouponSnapShot.com offers a variety of Kindle deals and discounts. Some of the past offers include a $100 off the price if you apply for a Visa card and a 30% discount off all Kindle accessories. Currently you are offered a bargain price, as well as free shipping.

Tip: research done for this article shows that most of the sites offering best Kindle deals are merely sites hoping to generate traffic as they usually simply redirect visitors to an Amazon page where Kindle deals are indeed offered.

Amazon also offers best Kindle deals in terms of accessories. One of the most favorites among buyers is the M-Edge Kindle Trilogy. The set comes with genuine leather cover, a leisure jacket and an e-Luminator2 booklight. The price is listed at $119.99 but Amazon is selling the set for a mere $79.99 saving you 33% of the total price.
