Since the launch of the Kindle a many months ago its popularity has soared. It offered a great alternative to buying the book as you simply downloaded each novel when and where you wanted providing you were in signal range or wi-fi depending on which model you chose. Very quickly people started to pick up on its only flaw, which was that it couldn't be read in the dark or in dimly lit rooms, making it impossible to read before you go to bed or in night trains for example. This was a big problem as you can imagine. However, designers and manufacturers quickly provided well-designed sleeves with lights included to supply the demand that was quickly rising.
There are a couple of lighted sleeves of note available, the first is a very slick leather sleeve with retractable light that ticks all the boxes for the suave mobile reader, however is priced rather steeply at £59.99, which is over half as expensive as the Kindle itself. Not proportionately priced I think you will agree. Secondly however was a very similar product which ticked the very same boxes as a sleek and slender kindle sleeve with a detachable light instead of retractable light, but priced much more competitively at £17.95, just over a tenth of the cost of the product itself. Far more reasonable.
To Conclude: Kindle Lighted Cover Good Points
It's Price, very competitive, and if you are feeling the pinch this makes sense.
Great Leather Case looks fantastic.
Light is separate so doesn't use up kindle battery
LED is long lasting
Can move the light around the page so more useable.
Kindle Lighted Cover Bad Points
The reviews suggest the only downfall of this product could be light, which is not quite as excellent as the cover.
The leather cover is high quality and folds shut neatly. My favourite type of cover closure is the zip but haven't found any zip up ones with lights so haven't included in my review. But this one has clever little slip for tickets and receipts. It doesn't weigh too much either, the added weight takes its combined weight to about that of a small hardback book, a comforting weight.
Had a look around and found some good sites, but go into shops or stores and they seem to be lacking on variety, Kindle Lighted Cover has the full range available.
I recently bought a Kindle and was thrilled with it except for one thing, you cant read in the dark! This prompted me to look into kindle lights and see what is available.
Thanks
