Digital Book Readers are all the hype right now. There is tons of jargon associated with the eReaders, making it hard for people to compare the different models. You may be asking "Which Kindle Should I Get?" Let me clear up your confusion by comparing the Kindles right here.
Kindle Wifi
The Kindle Wifi is the entry level Kindle E Reader. It has a 6 inch reading area and can store about 3,500 books. This version of the Kindle is really light weight and great for travel. If you only read occasionally, or only around the house, this model is perfect for you.
Cons
The Kindle Wifi can store your entire library, but it requires Wifi to access your online collection. You will also need Wifi to shop or download more books.
Kindle Wfi + 3g
3g gives you the ability to access your books from anywhere. Not only can you access your entire library, you can download new books from the Amazon Marketplace. You get 3g pretty much anywhere so don't plan on being bored anytime soon.
Cons
There are no real complaints for this model. 3g uses battery life a little bit faster, but when you have two to three weeks of battery life who cares?
Kindle DX
The Kindle DX is the top shelf model of Amazon's Kindle. The DX has a much bigger screen. The DX also comes equipped with Wifi and 3g.
Cons
The battery life is not as good as the other two models because of the larger screen, but the larger screen is worth it. The battery life is still almost two weeks long. The Kindle DX is a little bigger and heavier so it is great for around the house or on vacation, by the beach or pool. If you are going to be using your Kindle on a day to day basis you may want to get the smaller size. If you carry a suitcase or a bag big enough for a 9.7 inch Kindle, I would take the upgrade.
Kindle Versus Nook: the Kindle Wifi + 3G only has a few advantages over the Kindle Wifi but have you thought about the Kindle Versus Nook discussion?
