Amazon Kindle or B and N Nook Color?

Remember the time when people demanded Amazon for a colored touchscreen version of the Kindle? Maybe the public won't be ranting too much about it. Just recently Barnes and Noble launched its latest device, the Nook color. Its 7" diagonal with full touchscreen navigation, has Wifi and 3G connection, and could store 8GB, so that is nearly 6,000 books stored that could be expanded up to 32GB using the microSD memory card. It sounds very leading. And the fact that it only costs $249, is something that everyone would be interested in buying. Compared to the iPad which nearly costs around $500, Nook color is half the price but is it worth the price? One thing confuses me, is the nook color and e-book reader or a Tablet PC?

Going back to the Kindle, being an e-book reader, purely and e-book reader with some additional apps that you could make use at the same time, is a big challenge knowing that there are a lot of wireless reading devices that has been launched recently, that is built in with color, bigger memory and has touchscreen navigation. But as far as reading a few interview from Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Kindle Color is still a long way out. And that is regardless of how many colored e-book readers are in store right now. Amazon sproves that the kindle's function is providing convenience for DIE HARD readers. You don't need videos, nor photos to compliment your reading, unless you read the children's books, which brings me back to comparing the Nook Color.

The latest Nook allows you to have children's books, colored magazine, and the color is perfectly fine, but as far as the graphical images on the children's books, its way too small compared to the books we we read when they go to bed. Its way too distracting for the children. When it comes to magazines, images are clear, but I'm worried about the letters that comes in each article, even though its on landscape, it still comes out too tiny. It could view pictures, could have videos as well. Haven't I mentioned that the Android OS runs the Nook? Yep they do, and because of that, it has applications like Pandora, Soduku, and some crossword puzzles that you may want to take your time doing instead of reading. But is unable to access the Google Market, its too disappointing for Android fanatics.

Do we really need those things in an e-book reader?Doesn't it have a little less apps if its a a tablet PC?Will you buy a Nook color or would rather go for an e-book reader like the Kindle review

To answer my question about the Nook's function, as B&N stated, its not an e-book reader, nor a tablet PC, but a READER'S TABLET. Its a combination of two, but works less of each. I'd rather go for a full e-book reader and a full Tablet PC. $250 for a colored Nook is not bad, but buying it doesn't make sense for me.

Bottom line is, know what you do, are you going to read? Or are you going to browse on those zippy touchscreen? And the answer is not the Nook color. If your gonna read, choose the Amazon Kindle, if your a browser, then go for the iPad, something that you'll be able to view on a bigger screen and could function as a PC. READER'S TABLET for me is a no-no. But we never close our doors for future reader's tablet. For the Nook, it may have some firmware upgrades in the future, but hopefully it comes in a size like the Kindle DX. So far, we've dissected the colored e-book reader, and compared it with an e-ink e-reader. And basing from its pros and cons, the Kindle still stands out regardless of its rivals trying to bring him down.
