Kindle 6" has already been phased out and can no longer be bought in Amazon. But that can't be bad news 'cause Kindle with Global Wireless and Kindle DX is now here. You can buy these devices if you want a book reading device that is both digital and has wireless Internet connection.
Whichever you choose between Kindle DX and Kindle with Global Wireless entirely depends on what you need. Or if you are going to give it as a gift, it entirely depends on what that person wants and needs because each of them has their own set of advantages over the other.
But of you are not living in the US, your only choice would be Global Kindle because unfortunately, Kindle DX only works when you are living in the United States, while Global Kindle works wherever you are in the globe, as its name implies.
If you are living in the United States, you can save money if you buy Global Kindle because it has the more portable size than the DX version yet it has a much bigger storage capacity than the other version.
The DX version is 3.7" bigger diagonally than that of Global Wireless. However, the Global Wireless can hold only up to 1, 500 books while the DX can hold up to a lot more, 3, 500 books I should say.
Another advantage of the DX version because of its size is that it can provide you an auto-rotation screen. That is, if you flip your device to any side you want, the screen will also flip automatically so that you can read the text properly still. This type of feature is particularly helpful when you are viewing photos from your Kindle Reading Device.
The Global Wireless Kindle and the Kindle DX may have differences with regards to their size and their storage capacity but these two versions also have something in common in terms of some features present in both the Global Wireless and DX.
Here are some of the features that they share in common:
First of all, both of them can allow you to gain access to the Amazon Kindle Store to browse through 360, 00 books, newspapers, and magazines. Secondly, they both have the ability to enable you to download any literary works in Amazon for as fast as 60 seconds. Both of them also have long battery life so whichever you purchase between the two you don't need to charge them ever so often. And also, whenever you use the wireless connectivity feature, you won't be charged to pay for it monthly. It also has a screen that gives you that feeling as if you are just reading a normal paperback and doesn't give you eye strain even if you have been reading for a long while already. You can also turn your books into audio books and make it read for you (you can even choose whether you want a male or a female voice to read for you) when you are occupied with other things. Both of the versions have a built-in dictionary that will aid you in getting the meaning of the words you come across that you don't understand. And lastly, both also have access to the Wikipedia and also has a web browser that enables you to browse the Internet from time to time.
