But the biggest advantage of Amazon kindle over iphone is you can use wireless service without being billed for wireless access.
It has a high contrast display screen which does a great job of simulating a printed page. It also has a built in free wireless "whispernet" data network, built in keyboard, SD card expansion slot; compatible with both windows and MAC. It can hold up to 200 non illustrated tittles. Kindle supports AZW format, it's a proprietary Kindle format. You can also convert HTML, DOC, PDF, JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP documents to AZW. It also support MP3 format.
Coming to design specification, Kindle weights about 10.3 ounces, 7.5 inches high, 5.3 inches wide and 0.7 inches deep. It has a 600x800 pixel screen and uses e ink technology, by which letters and words on screen looks more print like in their appearance. You can also surf using Kindle as it comes along with inbuilt basic web browser.
On the release day more than 88000 titles were available for download but number increased steadily. First offering of Kindle was finished in five and a half hour. It was initially introduced at an initial cost of $399 but later it was reduced to $359.
