The Kindle DX is Amazon's new Ebook reader and it is the big brother to amazons Kindle.
The Kindle DX is the same width as the smaller one, but the screen has been pushed out to a roomy 9.7 inches and the weight is up to just over 18 ounces but it is still very manageable.
It of course benefits from the same kindle Infrastructure and works right out the box wirelessly with no fees or contracts and a library of over 300,000 books, magazines, periodicals and newspapers which can be downloaded in 60 seconds or less.
The DX however has double the memory and will hold up to 3,500 books, (any others purchased can be held on the Amazon servers and downloaded at any time. The screen features the same 'paper ink' technology to make reading the screen like reading a printed page and there is no glare so it can be read in sunlight.
The DX also includes a couple of very cool additions from the first Kindle.
Firstly, the Display auto-rotates from a portrait setting to a landscape as you turn the device around. This allows the user to view full width maps, tables, graphs, photos and even web pages.
The Kindle DX also integrates a full PDF reader so you can store and carry all your personal and professional documents on the go. The 3G service also allows you to download them whenever you need them.
The price will obviously be prohibitive for some, but it is still the current 'must have gadget'.
