When the Kindle 2 came out, I knew that I had to get one. Reading is a passion of mine and I knew that I could save a lot of space in my home if I got one, instead of taking up a lot of space all over my house. Instead of having piles of books all over, I simply have my Kindle 2, with my favorite books loaded on it. Let me tell you some of the great features of the Amazon Kindle 2.
1) A huge amount of book titles available on Amazon (over 200,000)
2) WhisperSync - ability to synchronize across the Kindle 1.0 as well as Kindle 2.0, and in the near future across other types of mobile devices. This means that you can share books, which is cool in itself, but you are also able to share exactly where you are in the book.
3) Ability to listen to your book instead of simply reading it, although some publishers may choose not to allow it for some titles.
4) Very slim design (less than half an inch in depth) and a sleek, metallic back. Some people feel as if they like the look of the Kindle 1.0 better, but the new version is much sleeker.
5) 16 levels of grays opposed to 4 shades of gray, something that a lot of people like. This enables the reader to display pictures clearly.
6) The end to accidental clicks with better placement of buttons. When you are holding your Kindle 2.0 by the outside, the page buttons are no longer there so you don't have to worry about hitting them accidentally.
